Privacy Policy

The Short Version

The CaptureWizard extension keeps what it stores — your capture settings and preferences — on your own device (or in your Google account if you enable Chrome sync). It does send your license key and a random installation id to api.capturewizard.app, once a day while a license key is saved — never before you enter one, to check your license; we keep your IP address and browser user-agent alongside the check, for 90 days. Nothing else about you is collected or transmitted. This website uses privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics and handles whatever you choose to send us through the contact form.

What the Extension Stores

CaptureWizard stores your capture settings and preferences using Chrome's local storage API, Chrome's sync storage API, and IndexedDB. This data:

• Remains on your device, or within your Google account if you enable sync storage
• Is not itself transmitted to us — separately from what it stores, the extension sends your license key and a random installation id to check your license, described below
• Can be deleted at any time by removing it in the extension or uninstalling the extension; anything already synced is removed when you clear it from your Google account

What the Extension Sends

To check that your license is valid, the extension sends your license key and a random installation id to api.capturewizard.app, once a day while a license key is saved — never before you enter one. We keep your IP address and browser user-agent alongside the check, for 90 days. This is the only information the extension transmits, and it is never sold, rented, or shared.

What the Extension Never Collects

• Browsing history or activity
• The content of websites you visit

Permissions

The extension requests only the Chrome permissions it needs to do its job, and uses them solely for the features you invoke. It does not read, collect, or transmit page content beyond what the feature you are using requires, and nothing is retained beyond the data described above.

This Website

The capturewizard.app website is served by Cloudflare, which receives standard web request metadata (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) to deliver pages and protect against abuse. For analytics we use self-hosted, cookieless Plausible Analytics — aggregate page counts only, no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no personal identifiers, and nothing shared with ad networks.

The Contact Form

When you send a message through our contact form, it is verified by Cloudflare Turnstile and delivered to our inbox. We use what you send solely to respond to you; nothing is stored on our servers beyond delivering the message.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Checkout happens on Stripe's hosted pages: your payment card details go directly to Stripe and are never collected, seen, or retained by us. Stripe's handling of your information is described in its own privacy policy.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information. The only third parties involved are the service providers named on this page, each used solely to operate the service described.

Children's Privacy

CaptureWizard does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13 years of age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time; material changes are reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
